Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat
Add diced onion, carrots, and celery
Cook until softened
Add minced garlic and cook briefly
Stir in diced zucchini, green beans, and potatoes
Add canned diced tomatoes
Pour in vegetable broth or chicken broth
Add cannellini beans or kidney beans
Season with salt, black pepper, dried oregano, and dried basil
Bring to a boil
Reduce heat and simmer until vegetables are tender
Add small pasta and cook until al dente
Stir in chopped spinach or kale
Adjust seasoning as needed
Serve hot with grated Parmesan if desired
