Slice lean meat into thin strips

Render beef fat or tallow until fully melted and clear

Strain the melted fat to remove solids

Mix the meat powder with melted fat

Add dried berries if desired

Stir until the mixture is thick and evenly combined

Pack the mixture tightly into molds, jars, or balls

Let it cool and harden completely

Store in a cool, dry place
