Divide players into two teams
Give each team the same number of balls
Toss a coin or decide which team throws first
Throw the small target ball, called the pallino, onto the court
The first team throws one bocce ball toward the pallino
The other team throws until one ball is closer to the pallino than the opponent’s closest ball
Alternate turns, always trying to get closer to the pallino
Use throws, rolls, or gentle lobs depending on the surface
Knock opponents’ balls away if needed
Continue until all bocce balls have been thrown
Score one point for each of your balls that is closer to the pallino than the opponent’s closest ball
Play additional rounds until a team reaches the agreed winning score
Keep balls within the court boundaries
Follow any local house rules for the court and scoring
