Connect to the FortiGate using SSH with a terminal client
Log in with an administrator account
Use the FortiGate console port with a serial console cable and terminal software
Access the CLI from the FortiGate GUI by opening the CLI Console
Use FortiExplorer if supported by the device and environment
From the GUI, go to the top-right menu and select CLI Console
From SSH or console, enter CLI commands directly after login
