Gather an elastic bandage or knee wrap
Sit or stand with the knee slightly bent
Start wrapping below the knee
Overlap each layer by about half the width of the wrap
Wrap upward across the knee
Keep the wrap snug, not tight
Cover the knee joint evenly
Continue wrapping above the knee
Secure the end with clips or tape
Check that circulation is normal
Remove and rewrap if numbness, tingling, or swelling increases
Rewrap as needed during activity or recovery
