Create or log in to a Discord account
Go to the Discord Developer Portal
Create a new application
Add a bot to the application
Copy the bot token and keep it private
Set the bot permissions and OAuth2 scopes
Generate the bot invite link
Open the invite link in your browser
Select the Discord server
Click Authorize
Complete the verification if prompted
Run the bot code or hosting service
Check that the bot appears online in the server
