Turn off power at the circuit breaker
Verify the power is off with a voltage tester
Choose the outlet location
Cut the opening for the electrical box
Run cable to the new outlet location
Strip the cable sheathing and wire ends
Install the electrical box
Connect the wires to the outlet
Attach the outlet to the box
Install the cover plate
Restore power at the breaker
Test the outlet with a plug-in tester
