Choose two sturdy anchor points, such as trees, posts, or hammock stands
Make sure the anchor points are strong enough to support your weight
Measure the distance between the anchor points
Attach tree straps, ropes, or suspension straps to each anchor point
Connect the hammock to the straps or ropes using carabiners, knots, or built-in loops
Adjust the height so the hammock hangs low enough to sit in safely
Aim for a slight sag in the hammock rather than a tight line
Check that both sides are even and secure
Test the setup gently before fully lying in the hammock
Recheck all connections before each use
