Connect the Samsung S23 Ultra to your computer with a USB-C cable
On the phone, tap Allow when prompted to permit file access
On Windows, open File Explorer and select the phone under This PC
Copy photos, videos, documents, and other files from the phone to a folder on your computer
For a full device backup, install Samsung Smart Switch on your computer
Open Smart Switch on the computer
Connect the phone to the computer with the USB-C cable
On the phone, tap Allow if prompted
In Smart Switch, click Backup
Wait for the backup to finish
To back up photos and videos automatically, use Google Photos or Samsung Cloud sync
To back up contacts, calendar, and app data, enable Samsung or Google account sync on the phone
To back up messages, use Smart Switch or a third-party backup app
To back up to an external drive, copy files from the phone to the drive through the computer
Verify the backup files are saved correctly on the computer
