Earn a bachelor’s degree, preferably in criminal justice, social work, psychology, sociology, public administration, or a related field
Gain experience in corrections, parole, probation, criminal justice, law enforcement, or case management
Develop knowledge of Texas criminal law, parole procedures, offender supervision, and victim services
Meet the minimum qualifications listed in Texas Department of Criminal Justice and Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles job postings
Apply for hearing officer or similar parole board support positions through the Texas state jobs system
