Earn an accredited nursing degree (ADN or BSN)
Pass the NCLEX-RN exam
Obtain an active RN license
Gain bedside nursing experience, usually 1–2 years in a specialty

Maintain licenses for any states where you plan to work
Stay flexible and ready to relocate for assignments
