How To Blanch Vegetables?

Wash the vegetables thoroughly

Trim and cut them into even pieces

Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil

Prepare a bowl of ice water

Add the vegetables to the boiling water

Blanch for the appropriate time

Remove the vegetables quickly with a slotted spoon or strainer

Transfer them immediately to the ice water

Let them cool completely

Drain well

Pat dry if needed

Use or store as desired
