Open the Messages app
Open the conversation from the sender you want to block
Tap the contact name or number at the top
Tap Info or Details
Select Block this Caller or Block Contact
Confirm the block
Open your phone app
Go to Recents or Contacts
Select the number you want to block
Tap Block Contact or Block Number
Confirm the block
On Android, open Messages
Open the conversation
Tap the three-dot menu
Tap Details or Block and report spam
Select Block
On iPhone, open Settings
Tap Messages
Tap Blocked Contacts
Tap Add New
Choose the contact or number to block
Use your carrier’s spam-blocking tools
Enable spam filtering in your messaging app
Report spam messages when prompted
Delete unwanted messages after blocking
To block unknown senders, enable message filtering in your phone settings
To stop group texts, leave the group if available
To block a short code, contact your carrier for support
