Save your work and restart the laptop
On Windows, hold Shift and select Restart
Go to Troubleshoot
Select Advanced options
Select Startup Settings
Click Restart
Press 4 or F4 for Safe Mode
Press 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking
Press 6 or F6 for Safe Mode with Command Prompt
If Windows will not start, interrupt startup three times to enter Recovery Mode
In Recovery Mode, go to Troubleshoot
Select Advanced options
Select Startup Settings
Click Restart
Press 4 or F4 for Safe Mode
On some laptops, press F8 during startup to access Safe Mode options
On macOS, restart and hold Shift until the login screen appears
Release Shift after the login screen loads
