Fill a sink, tub, tray, or basin with a few inches of water
Place the plant pot in the water
Let the pot sit until the top of the soil feels moist
Remove the pot from the water
Let excess water drain from the pot
Return the plant to its normal spot
Empty any leftover water from the tray or basin
Repeat when the soil begins to dry out
