Measure the length, width, and height of the item or carton in meters
Use the formula: CBM = Length × Width × Height
If measurements are in centimeters, convert each to meters by dividing by 100
If measurements are in millimeters, convert each to meters by dividing by 1000
For multiple cartons, calculate CBM for one carton and multiply by the total quantity
For irregular items, use the outer dimensions of the packaging or the smallest enclosing box
If calculating shipping volume, add the CBM of all packages together
