How To Calculate Median Of Grouped Data?

Arrange the grouped data in ascending order of class intervals

Find the total frequency, N

Calculate N/2

Determine the median class, which is the class interval whose cumulative frequency first exceeds N/2

Use the formula: Median = L + [(N/2 – cf) / f] × h

L = lower boundary of the median class

cf = cumulative frequency before the median class

f = frequency of the median class

h = class width

Substitute the values into the formula

Compute the median value
