SGPA = Total Grade Points Earned in a Semester ÷ Total Credit Hours Attempted in that Semester
Grade Points Earned for each subject = Credit of the subject × Grade Point of the grade obtained
Add the grade points of all subjects in the semester
Add the credits of all subjects in the semester
Divide total grade points by total credits
SGPA = Σ(Credit × Grade Point) ÷ Σ(Credits)
Example: if a subject has 4 credits and grade point 8, then grade points earned = 32
Example: if total grade points = 240 and total credits = 30, then SGPA = 240 ÷ 30 = 8.0
