Turn off the light switch
Turn off power at the circuit breaker
Let the tube cool down
Place a stable ladder under the fixture if needed
Remove the fixture cover or diffuser
Support the tube with both hands
Rotate the tube a quarter turn until the pins align with the slots
Lower the tube out of the fixture
Check the tube type and length before installing the replacement
Align the new tube pins with the slots
Insert the tube into the fixture
Rotate the tube a quarter turn until it locks in place
Reinstall the cover or diffuser
Restore power at the breaker
Turn on the light and test the tube
Dispose of the old tube according to local rules
