Turn off the sprinkler system
Locate the damaged sprinkler head
Dig around the head carefully
Unscrew the old sprinkler head
Remove the old head and any debris
Check the riser and threads for damage
Wrap plumber’s tape around the threads if needed
Screw on the new sprinkler head
Adjust the head to the correct height and direction
Turn the water back on
Test the new sprinkler head
Fill in the soil around the head
