Finish the last stitch of the current color until the final yarn over
Drop the old color, leaving both yarn tails at the back
Yarn over with the new color
Pull the new color through to complete the stitch
Continue crocheting with the new color
For a neater join, change colors on the last yarn over of the stitch before the new color section
Carry the unused yarn along the edge or inside the stitches if needed
Cut the old yarn if you do not plan to use it again soon
Weave in the ends after finishing
