Gather a small flathead screwdriver or coin and a replacement battery
Identify the seam or release notch on the key fob
Insert the screwdriver or coin into the seam or notch
Gently twist to separate the key fob halves
Remove the old battery
Note the battery type and orientation
Insert the new battery in the same orientation
Snap the key fob halves back together
Test the key fob buttons
Replace the battery cover if applicable
