Use a USB cable that fits your phone and laptop
Plug the cable into the phone
Plug the other end into a USB port on the laptop
Make sure the laptop is powered on or awake
Wait for the phone to show that it is charging
If it does not charge, try a different USB port
If it still does not charge, use a different cable
If the laptop is in battery-saving mode, disable it if needed
Keep the laptop plugged into power for faster charging
Disconnect the cable when charging is complete
