Find the serial number on the device, original box, or receipt
Go to Apple’s Check Coverage page
Enter the serial number at checkcoverage.apple.com
Verify that Apple recognizes the serial number
Check that the model name and warranty status match the device
Compare the serial number in Settings with the one on the box and receipt
On iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > General > About
On Mac, click Apple menu > About This Mac
On Apple Watch, open the Watch app > General > About
On AirPods, check the case, lid, or connected device settings
Look for signs of tampering, mismatched labels, or poor-quality printing
Contact Apple Support if the serial number does not verify
Avoid buying if the serial number is missing, altered, or inconsistent
