Include the book name, chapter, and verse

Use a standard format such as John 3:16

Add the translation if required, such as John 3:16 (NIV)

For multiple verses, use a range such as Psalm 23:1–4

For nonconsecutive verses, separate them with commas such as Matthew 5:3, 5, 7

For a full chapter, cite the chapter only such as Genesis 1
