Author’s last name, first name. “Title of Source.” Title of Container, other contributors, version, number, publisher, publication date, location.
Use quotation marks for shorter works like articles, essays, poems, and web pages.
Italicize longer works like books, journals, websites, and films.
List authors in the order they appear in the source.
Use a hanging indent for each citation.
Alphabetize the Works Cited list by the first word of each citation.
If there is no author, begin with the title.
If there is no date, use “n.d.”
For in-text citations, include the author’s last name and page number in parentheses.
If there is no page number, use only the author’s last name.
If there are two authors, include both last names joined by “and.”
If there are three or more authors, use the first author’s last name followed by “et al.”
For online sources, include the URL if required by your instructor or style guide.
End each citation with a period.
