Turn off and unplug the fan
Remove the front grill or cover if possible
Take off the fan blades if removable
Use a dry cloth or vacuum to remove loose dust
Wipe the blades, grill, and base with a damp cloth
Use mild soap on stubborn dirt if needed
Dry all parts completely
Reassemble the fan
Plug it back in and test it
