Turn off the unit and unplug it
Remove the front panel and filter
Wash the filter with warm water and mild soap
Let the filter dry completely
Vacuum dust from the front grille and vents
Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth
Clean the evaporator coils with a soft brush or coil cleaner
Clean the condenser coils on the back or outside side of the unit
Clear debris from the drain holes and drip pan
Straighten bent coil fins with a fin comb if needed
Reinstall the dry filter and front panel
Plug the unit back in and test it
Clean the unit every few weeks during heavy use
