Turn off the Blackstone and let it cool completely
Remove the griddle top from the base if applicable (or keep it in place if it’s fixed)
Scrape food debris with a metal scraper while the surface is still warm (not hot)
Wipe away loosened debris with paper towels or a clean cloth
Pour water onto the surface to loosen residue (use sparingly)
Scrape again until the surface is mostly clean
Apply a Blackstone griddle cleaner or a mild degreaser to the surface
Scrub with a griddle brush or non-scratch pad
Rinse with a small amount of water and scrape/wipe immediately
Dry the surface thoroughly with paper towels or a clean cloth
While the surface is warm, apply a thin layer of cooking oil (griddle seasoning oil)
Spread oil evenly with a paper towel
Heat the griddle briefly until the oil smokes lightly
Wipe off excess oil to leave a thin, even coat
For stubborn buildup: repeat cleaning and scraping, then re-season
For rust: scrub with a griddle stone or rust eraser, rinse/wipe, fully dry, then season again
For regular maintenance: after each use, scrape, wipe, dry, and reapply a thin oil coat
Store covered in a dry area after the surface is fully cool and seasoned
