Put the motorcycle on a stand or center stand
Let the chain cool completely
Shift to neutral and turn off the engine
Cover the rear brake and nearby parts if needed
Inspect the chain for damage, rust, or tight spots
Apply a motorcycle chain cleaner or kerosene to the chain
Use a soft brush or chain cleaning brush to scrub the chain
Rotate the rear wheel by hand to clean the full chain
Wipe off dirt and cleaner with a clean rag
Repeat cleaning until the chain is free of grime
Dry the chain completely with a clean cloth
Apply motorcycle chain lubricant to the inside of the chain
Rotate the wheel to spread the lubricant evenly
Wipe off excess lubricant from the chain and wheel
Let the lubricant set before riding
Clean the chain regularly after wet or dirty rides
