Empty the water tank and remove any capsules from the machine
Fill the water tank with fresh potable water
Power on the machine and let it warm up
Run a rinse cycle: press and hold the button for 3–5 seconds to start cleaning/rinsing mode (or follow the on-screen prompts)
Place a container (at least 500 ml) under the coffee outlet
Run the rinse cycle until it completes
Empty the drip tray and capsule container, then rinse and dry them
Wipe the outside of the machine with a damp cloth, then dry
Clean the coffee outlet area with a damp cloth or soft brush
Descale as needed: use Nespresso Vertuo descaling solution and follow the prompts
Start the descaling process with an empty capsule container and a full water tank (with descaler mixed per instructions)
Continue the cycle until the machine indicates completion
Rinse the machine: refill the tank with fresh water and run the rinse cycle until the tank is empty and the machine requests no more water
Reassemble the drip tray and capsule container once fully dry
If you see a “Clean” or “Descale” prompt, run the corresponding cycle immediately
