Blot up as much urine as possible with clean paper towels or a dry cloth
Remove and wash all bedding immediately
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle
Lightly spray the stained area without soaking the mattress
Blot again with clean towels
Sprinkle baking soda generously over the damp area
Let the baking soda sit until completely dry
Vacuum up the baking soda thoroughly
Repeat the vinegar and baking soda process if needed
Use an enzyme cleaner for stubborn urine odors or stains
Let the mattress air dry completely before putting bedding back on
Place the mattress in a well-ventilated area or use a fan
Use a waterproof mattress protector to prevent future accidents
