Unplug the iron and let it cool completely
Check the manufacturer’s cleaning instructions
Wipe the soleplate with a soft damp cloth
Mix baking soda with a little water to make a paste
Apply the paste to the dirty areas of the soleplate
Gently rub with a soft cloth or nonabrasive sponge
Use a cotton swab for steam holes and small crevices
Wipe away residue with a clean damp cloth
For stubborn buildup, use white vinegar on a cloth
Clean steam vents with a toothpick or cotton swab
Dry the soleplate thoroughly with a soft towel
Run the iron over an old towel on low heat if needed
Avoid steel wool, knives, and abrasive cleaners
Empty the water reservoir after cleaning
Store the iron only after it is fully dry
