Check the video ports on your laptop and monitor
Get the correct cable or adapter
Turn off the laptop and monitor
Connect one end of the cable to the laptop
Connect the other end of the cable to the monitor
Turn on the monitor
Turn on the laptop
Select the correct input source on the monitor
Open display settings on the laptop
Choose duplicate, extend, or second screen only
Adjust resolution if needed
Adjust display position if using multiple screens
