Locate the Ethernet port on your router, modem, switch, or computer
Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into the port until it clicks
Insert the other end of the cable into the matching Ethernet port on the device
Make sure both ends are fully seated and secure
Check for a link light on the port or device
Restart the device if the connection does not work immediately
