How To Cook Garbanzos?

Rinse the dried garbanzos and remove any debris or damaged beans

Soak them in plenty of water for 8 to 12 hours

Drain and rinse the soaked garbanzos

Place them in a pot and cover with fresh water by 2 to 3 inches

Bring to a boil over high heat

Reduce to a simmer

Skim off any foam that rises to the top

Cook until tender, about 1 to 2 hours

Add salt near the end of cooking

Drain and use as desired

For canned garbanzos, rinse and drain before using
