Select the text, file, or item you want to copy
Press Ctrl + C on Windows or Command + C on Mac
Click where you want to paste
Press Ctrl + V on Windows or Command + V on Mac
To cut instead of copy, press Ctrl + X on Windows or Command + X on Mac
To paste without using shortcuts, right-click and choose Copy or Paste
On a touchpad, you can also use two-finger tap for the right-click menu
On some laptops, you can use the Edit menu in apps to copy and paste
