Wash hands thoroughly after using the toilet and before eating
Use clean, boiled, or bottled water only
Keep food preparation and utensils very clean
Isolate your eating and drinking items from others
Monitor for high fever, confusion, severe weakness, persistent vomiting, blood in stool, or abdominal pain
Go to emergency care immediately if symptoms worsen or you cannot keep fluids down
Complete the full antibiotic course exactly as prescribed
Follow up with a doctor until fully recovered
