Wash the cauliflower under cold running water
Remove any outer leaves
Trim the stem end if needed
Place the cauliflower on a cutting board with the stem side down
Cut the cauliflower in half through the center of the stem
Cut each half into quarters
Cut out the core from each quarter
Break or cut the florets away from the core
Trim large florets into smaller, even pieces
Rinse again if needed and use as desired
