Select the file, text, or item you want to move
Press Command + C to copy
Press Command + Option + V to move the copied item to the new location in Finder
For text, press Command + X if the app supports cut
If Command + X is not available, use Command + C, then delete the original after pasting
In Finder, use Command + C followed by Command + Option + V to cut and paste files
In many apps, use the Edit menu to find Cut, Copy, and Paste commands
