Open WhatsApp
Go to the chat with the contact
Tap the contact’s name at the top
Tap Edit or the three-dot menu, depending on your device
Select View in Address Book or Open in Contacts
Delete the contact from your phone’s contacts app
Return to WhatsApp
Refresh your contacts if needed
If you want to remove the chat too, go back to WhatsApp
Long-press the chat
Tap Delete chat
