Open the Messenger app
Tap your profile picture in the top left
Tap Account settings
Tap Personal details
Tap Account ownership and control
Tap Deactivation or deletion
Select the Facebook account linked to Messenger
Choose Delete account
Tap Continue
Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm deletion
If Messenger is linked to Facebook, delete the Facebook account to remove Messenger account access
