Open WhatsApp
Go to the Chats tab
Open the chat with the contact
Tap the contact’s name at the top
Tap Edit or the three-dot menu
Select View in Address Book or Open in Contacts
Delete the contact from your phone’s contacts
Return to WhatsApp
Refresh your contacts if needed
If the chat still appears, delete the chat from WhatsApp
If the contact is blocked, go to the contact info and tap Block Contact
