Open Facebook and log in
Go to your profile or the Facebook app menu
Tap or click Friends
Find the contact you want to remove
Open that person’s profile
Tap or click Friends
Select Unfriend
Confirm the action
To remove a contact from Messenger only, open the chat
Tap the person’s name or info
Select Block or Remove, if available
To delete synced phone contacts from Facebook, open Settings and privacy
Go to Settings
Open Accounts Center or Upload Contacts
Find Contacts Uploading
Turn off contact syncing
Delete uploaded contacts if the option is available
Repeat for any other contacts you want removed
