How To Dental Floss Properly?

Break off about 18 inches of floss

Wrap most of it around your middle fingers, leaving 1 to 2 inches to work with

Hold the floss tightly between your thumbs and index fingers

Gently guide the floss between two teeth using a sawing motion

Curve the floss into a C shape against one tooth

Slide it up and down along the side of the tooth and slightly under the gumline

Repeat on the adjacent tooth

Use a clean section of floss for each new space

Move from tooth to tooth across the mouth

Floss behind the back teeth

Avoid snapping the floss into the gums

Be gentle to prevent irritation or bleeding

Floss once a day

Brush your teeth after flossing if part of your routine
