How To Descale A Keurig Coffee Maker?

Unplug the Keurig coffee maker

Remove the water reservoir and empty it

Fill the reservoir with Keurig descaling solution (or use a 1:1 mix of white vinegar and water)

Place a large mug on the drip tray to catch the descaling liquid

Start the brewer and run a “Brew” cycle without a K-Cup

Continue running brew cycles until the “Add Water” / reservoir empty prompt appears

Let the machine sit for 30 minutes

Refill the reservoir with fresh water

Run multiple brew cycles without a K-Cup until the water reservoir is empty

Refill the reservoir again with fresh water

Run additional brew cycles until there is no vinegar/solution smell or taste

Empty any collected liquid from the mug and drip tray

Wipe the exterior and remove/clean the K-cup holder and funnel area

Run one final brew with a fresh K-Cup (discard the first cup if you still notice any taste)
