Empty the water tank and rinse it
Remove the capsule from the machine (if present)
Fill the water tank with the manufacturer-recommended descaling solution and water (or use Nespresso descaling tablets per instructions)
Place a container under the coffee outlet and, if applicable, under the spout for used water
Turn on the machine
Start the descaling program by pressing and holding the appropriate button(s) for 3–6 seconds (follow your model’s button combination)
When the first phase starts, run until the “empty tank”/indicator prompts or the solution is finished
Rinse the water tank thoroughly
Fill the water tank with fresh potable water
Run the rinse cycle by repeating the same button sequence used to start descaling (or run until the tank is empty, per model instructions)
Repeat the rinse with fresh water if the machine prompts or if you detect residual descaler taste/smell
Empty the container used to collect water
Run 1–2 brewing cycles with fresh water only (no capsule) to confirm it’s fully rinsed
Refill the tank with water for normal use
