Open McAfee
Click the gear icon or Settings
Select Real-Time Scanning
Turn Real-Time Scanning off
Choose how long to disable it
Confirm the change if prompted
Open the Windows system tray
Right-click the McAfee icon
Select Exit or Disable
Enter the administrator password if required
Open Windows Settings
Go to Apps
Find McAfee
Select Uninstall if you want to remove it completely
Restart the computer if prompted
