Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager
Expand Sound, video and game controllers
Right-click Realtek Audio or Realtek(R) Audio
Select Disable device
Confirm the prompt
Restart the PC if needed
To re-enable it, return to Device Manager and select Enable device
If Disable device is unavailable, right-click Realtek Audio and select Uninstall device
Check Delete the driver software for this device if shown
Restart the PC
Open Settings
Go to Apps
Open Installed apps
Uninstall Realtek Audio Console or Realtek-related audio software if present
Open Control Panel
Go to Hardware and Sound
Open Sound
Select the Playback tab
Right-click the desired output device and set another device as Default
Open BIOS or UEFI if the Realtek audio is built into the motherboard
Look for Onboard Audio, HD Audio Controller, or Azalia Audio
Set it to Disabled
Save changes and exit
