Let the oil cool completely
Strain out food particles if you plan to reuse it
Reuse only if the oil is still clean, odor-free, and not burnt
Pour cooled oil into a sealable, non-breakable container
Seal the container tightly
Throw the sealed container in the trash if local rules allow
Never pour oil down the sink, toilet, or storm drain
Never dump oil on the ground or into outdoor drains
Take used oil to a recycling or cooking oil drop-off center if available
Check local waste disposal rules for accepted methods
